Hi, I’m Lucian Gizel and go by “Lucian” on all the boards I frequent.I remember fishing with my father at a very young age, probably 6 years old or so, in a canoe type boat and have fished ever since.I lived in Bay Shore, Long Island for 11 years, moved to Ontario Canada and lived there for 18 years and now I live in Michigan. I have had the opportunity to fish in many places and for many species of fish.
Here in Michigan I get to fish for pretty much all fresh water fish and within 3 hrs I can fish in any of the Great Lakes except Superior which is probably 5 hrs away. I am a member of Ocean Kayak Pro Staff, Michigan Kayak Fishing Team, and East Coast Kayak Fishing Team. In the past two years I have gotten involved with the kayak tournaments on the east coast and have fished in the Jacksonville and Virginia Beach tournaments both years. This year’s Va. Beach tournament will be my third year attending, and is of significant importance due to me being the returning Redfish division winner. I don’t get to fish coastal salt water more that 3 of 4 times a year and it is always a treat to be able to get out and do so. I have been kayak fishing since 2003 and have had the opportunity to paddle many models and manufactures’ kayaks. I like all of them, some a little more that others, and all that really matters is that you’re out yak fishing and hopefully the fish are bitting. I operate Great Lakes Kayak Fishing guide service which is in its second year of operations. I am currently in the midst of obtaining my USCG 100 Ton Master License for the Great Lakes and Inshore and hope to offer “Mother Ship” services in the area. I fish at least once a week in the area and whenever I go on vacation, which is always to warm climates, I get on at least one charter offshore. I would rather yak fish but I would never turn down a PB fishing trip. |
