Kayak 1 Campaign 02 The time has come for monetarily-endowed, customization-craving kayak anglers to rejoice; a new vessel is in town, and it is sure to be one to meet the needs of even the most finicky customer. From acclaimed New Zealand designers Jamie McLellan and Andy Jacobs comes Kayak 1, a carbon, teak amd ash recreational boat parked at the intersection of classical nautical styling and cutting edge contemporary technology.

A truly bespoke product, the price of entry depends upon the level of customization. A Kayak 1 complete with carbon fiber and visible carbon layup, UV resistant clear finish, and gold plated fittings, will set you back a little over US $15,000. Kayak 1 can be delivered in a solid paint finish with anodised aluminium fittings at a "slightly lower cost."

Complementing the manufacturing materials are the equally impressive specs. At 12' 10" long and 31" wide, this kayak weighs in at just 36 pounds. McLellan Jacobs also offers a range of accessories including matching paddes, fulyl protective covers, magnetic seat pads, and storage cradles. Lead times at the moment are 6-8 weeks. All models are built to order, and ship globally from New Zealand. No word yet on Scotty or Ram mount compatibility.  For more information, visit http://mclellanjacobs.com/ .
