Justin Orton has done it again! A leader in New Zealand kayak fishing, Orton’s NZ Kayak Fishing Series is recognized as the biggest and the best tournament for Kiwi kayak fishos. Now, Orton is expanding his operation to include amazing mothership fishing opportunities to the Barrier Islands north of the Coromandel Penninsula NZ. Teamed with Coromandel Fishing Adventures, these trips offer speed and luxury aboard the Legionnaire II, a Senator 1500 Catamaran powered by twin 700hp Volvo Pentas. The boat has all the amenities and comfortably sleeps eight plus crew. The area is ripe with potential prey. Orton says “Target species can include snapper, kingfish, trevally, John-Dory, Hapuka, albacore and skipjack tuna, and a New Zealand first if you’re keen - marlin fishing from a kayak!” Orton can arrange day trips or overnights as well as multi-day excursions up to two weeks. On longer trips Orton can assist clients to explore various kayak fishing locations including freshwater as well as salt. Check Orton’s website for more details, and be sure to send pix when you take this trip! |
